One of my favourite places in the world is the beach.

Beach

I love the serenity, the beauty, the magnificence that comes with it and though I’m not able to go to the beach as often as I may like, I usually love the moments that I get to be there, especially with friends.

Some weekends ago, I went out with some of my friends and it was an evening of fun.

We visited Nike Art Gallery, Elegushi beach and then topped it off with a movie at The Palms Mall, Lekki (can you guess the title?).

It was indeed an evening of fun. It’s amazing how much fun one can have with friends even in a busy environment when planned well.

So, no excuses for you not being able to hang out with your friends. All you need is a good plan.

We got to Nike Art Gallery around 5 pm ish, by the way, it’s such a beautiful, artful place.

Cos we got there a bit late, we had about an hour to explore the whole place. There were lots of artwork – paintings and sculptures.

Unfortunately, power was out, so I couldn’t take lots of pictures and we were not allowed to take pictures of the artwork alone except we were in the background.

Note: you can’t go in with a digital camera, only mobile phones.

The building has four floors, each floor with different work of arts and Mama Nike was there, I was fortunate to get a picture with her😄.

Leaving Nike Art Gallery, the next stop was Elegushi beach which was just a keke maruwa/bike away (two birds with one stone, yeah😉).

To say I had fun is, to say, the least. Thanks to Evans for capturing the moments

I had never been to the beach that late in the evening, so it was another experience. The atmosphere was mistier and the people there were mostly partying. The water had more waves and poured more to the shore. It was interesting though.

Finally, we left the beach to watch Spiderman: far from home at the cinema. It was a great movie and of course, a fully packed evening.

I was glad I had the experience as it was filled with great memories.

Having fun in Lagos doesn’t necessarily have to be overly expensive. You can have fun and explore places on a budget.

P.S: Entrance to Nike Art Gallery is free, however, you have to pay an access fee of 1000 naira to enter the beach.
They are both located at Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.

P.P.S: I and some other adventurous people will be going on an immersive tour within Lagos to Freedom Park and the National Museum. It’s going to be a day of fun and thankfully it falls on a public holiday, so no excuses.
