Tangled

“Oh my God! Oh my God!! Oh my God!!!”

Lizzy puts her hands on her head as she looks around her. It dawned on her what she had done.

Quickly, she tapped Tobi:

“Tobi! Tobi! Tobi, wake up! Ahh!!! Jesus what have I done to myself?! Tobi, wake up o!!!”

By this time, Tobi had sat up on the bed and was just staring at her as she displayed her drama. However, as soon as she started sobbing, he rolled down to her side and tried to console her but she slapped his hands away from her.

“Why are you crying now? I don’t understand why you’re crying. We had a fun time and I don’t regret having it with you”, he stretched his hand to comfort again.

“I regret it!” she screamed and simultaneously pushed his hands away again.

“And it’s time for you to leave my house.”

“Ah ahn! Babe, why na?

“First, I’m not your babe. Second, you need to leave now before my roommate comes in.”

Shocked, Tobi put on his clothes and left the house.

“Anyways, when you feel better you can call me.” He mentioned as he walked out of the door.

“I’m not calling you, just leave!”

THREE MONTHS LATER

Lizzy runs out of the room to the toilet to vomit. This was the third time today that she would be vomiting. Ronke, with whom she was discussing in the room, ran after her to see what was wrong with her.

“Lizzy, are you sure you’re okay? This is the third time today that you are vomiting.”

“Yes, I am fine. Maybe I’m just reacting to what I ate yesterday.”

“Well, I still think you should go to church hospital. It can be a sign of typhoid or cholera. Go to the hospital where you can get proper treatment.”

“Okay o, I will go later. Right now, I just want to sleep.”

“Sure.”

Ronke led her to the room.

As Lizzy lay on the bed, she began to think of what could be the reason for her frequent vomiting and dizziness lately.

I hope I’m not pregnant like this. What will I tell Ronke if I’m pregnant? Or what will I even tell Bro Bayo? We just reconciled and we’ve been going for counselling ever since. He thinks we are not strong enough to get married yet. God, please don’t let me be pregnant. I don’t want to spoil this bliss we are creating.

IN AN HOSPITAL

Knock! Knock! Knock!

“Yes, come in.”

“Doctor, I’m the lady you asked to come back today for my test result”

“Oh yes! Elizabeth right?”

“Yes sir”, she replied in affirmation.

He searched through his locker and find an envelope and gives it to her.

“The result is positive. You’re pregnant.”

“What!!”
