Favorite Quotes for the Week

Hello dear reader! Thanks for taking your time to stop by and read this post.  Trust your April has been amazing and result-packed, if not, there is still time to buckle up and get some things done.

I’ll like to share with you some of my favorite Bible quotes for the week. The Bible is filled with so many invaluable and priceless words to guide our every day; if you don’t believe this, check out the Book of Proverbs. I recently came across some verses of the Bible that I have read before but it was like I was just seeing them for the first time again( yea, the Bible does that to you).

  1.  Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.(Psam 76 vs 10 KJV)

When I first came across this passage, I pondered on what it could mean and how it applied to me. Other versions of the Bible on this are somewhat similar.

The world today is full of anger, bitterness, violence, corruption and a lot of evil things. Sometimes, we get fed up with all the bad news that we wake up to and sometimes, it seems there is no reason for living; we wonder where God is in the midst of all the chaos. But this scripture here says, the wrath of man shall praise God. God is definitely involved and interested in every phase of our lives. You might wonder what I mean by that.

Have you ever noticed anyone in your community that leaves his/her hair rough, unkempt and untidy? Does the untidy state of that person’s hair imply that there are no hair salons/ hair dressers? When you see such a person, what comes to your mind? Don’t you just tell the person in your mind, can’t you visit a salon?

Same goes for the world we are in. If we will acknowledge the fact that God is sovereign and that He has a plan for everyone, then we will hand over to Him the reins of our lives and let Him steer us in the right direction. The presence of the chaos, does not mean that there is no God.

God is definitely at work, because the second part of that verse says, the remainder of wrath shall you restrain. Truly, things get out of hand at times, but in the midst of it all, God is still maintaining order and keeping everything in check. He isn’t going to let it get out of His control. The wrath we see around, He allows for His praise and the one He thinks we cannot handle, He restrains.

I know i’m getting all preachy on you, but permit me to share one more passage with you.

2. …..Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10 vs 16 KJV)

The New Living Translation puts it as “So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves”.

God is not calling us to stupidity, neither is He calling us to pride/ arrogance. The message in this verse is: be sensitive, be guided, be aware of things around you. Don’t believe everything or everybody at once; analyse, be critical without being cynical. We should be gentle, easy going and also smart and alert. Be graceful, be peaceful, be firm and be kind.

If you read the post up to this point, then I truly appreciate you. Kindly share your thoughts on these in the comments section below. And don’t forget top share with as many as you can.

Cheers!!!
