Hey friends, how are y’all doing?
I’ll like to share some lessons with you on Jonah’s Prayer from the belly of a great fish as seen in Jonah 2: 1 -10 of the Bible.
Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly,
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord , and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. Jonah 2:1,2
The Bible records that Jonah prayed from the belly of a fish, and God heard him. The question I have for you is: “where are you that you think God cannot see or hear you? ”
Here was Jonah in the belly of a fish (I can’t even fully picture this), yet he was alive. ‘Cos it was recorded that he prayed and in his prayers, he cried and God heard him.
No matter where you are and no matter what it is, God never fails to hear the prayers of a repentant sinner. Do not let your sin/ guilt draw you further away from God; cry out to God from the midst of your stormy situation and He is gonna hear you and come to your aid.
There’s hope my friend. Do not stay there, stuck out in the weather; cry out for help and He will draw you in, He will speak to your situation and things will become right again.
Remember, He spoke to the fish (Jonah 2:10), and it vomited Jonah on dry land.
Cry out, look up, the solution is here already. CHEER UP, CHEER UP, dry land is here.
Also, Jonah was in the fish’s belly for three days and he didn’t die. What situation are you going through right now that feels like you won’t get through it?
One thing I’m sure of is this: God is definitely in control, and this problem you ate facing won’t kill you. Somewhere and somehow within the storm, keep your gaze on Him, He is working it out for your good. You’ll be fine.
P.S: On this day six years ago, I totally handed over the affairs of my life into Jesus’s hand, and He has been doing an awesome job of taking care of me.
Today, He wants me to tell you this: ” Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
He is offering you hope and life, all you have to do is:
— Acknowledge that you are helpless on your own. You see, He knows the end from the beginning. You could never take care of your life, like He can.
— Ask for His help. He says to come unto Him. All that this requires is your faith. Come unto Jesus in Faith and ask for His help. Tell Him that you are sorry for your past sins and acts, talk to Him about it, and ask Him to take away your sinfulness and give you His righteousness.
— Believe that He has saved you. In His Word, He says “If any comes to me, I’ll in no wise cast him away “. Once you call out to Him like Jonah did, He’ll come to your rescue.
If you’ve taken the aforementioned steps, then I congratulate you. You can get a Bible if you don’t have one, and then join a Bible-believing fellowship where you can worship with like believers.
